“And then the moon, like to a silver bow
New-bent in heaven, shall behold the night
Of our solemnities.”

During the time of year when our Earth tilts most toward the Sun, how ironic it is that the night should be so long in Shakespeare’s ode to mischief-making love.

The joy of the moonlit forest features the rocking ground of Oberon and his flower-squirting Puck, Titania and her donkey-headed Bottom, and Helena, Demetrius, Lysander, and Hermia who awake to both worlds with “parted eye.”

But which is the illusion: our dreams or our waking lives?

TSC proudly presents this family production in partnership with The University of Memphis on its Mainstage.

The creative team includes costumer Janice Benning-Lacek (TSC’s previous Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Tempest) and scenic designer Brian Ruggaber (University of Memphis, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey).

Free Will Kids’ Nights are June 4, 11, and 18:  Children 17 years and younger will be admitted FREE when accompanied by a paying, attending guardian.  Limit: four children per guardian.  Preview performances are June 4 and 5 at 7:00 pm.
