In June and July, Tennessee Shakespeare Company will offer three exciting summer experiences for young people ready to play, speak, and be empowered. Young players will enjoy learning multiple disciplines for the stage that will lead them to an active appreciation and understanding of the world of Shakespeare's plays. In this exciting one-week camp, students explore famous fairytales including Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, and Rumpelstiltskin, re-living the stories as the characters themselves. Students present their favorite characters on the last day!
Dates: June 13 – 17; 9 am - 4 pm
Cost: $250; Price includes daily lunch
Showcase A Shakespearean Tale
In this two-week interactive camp, students study, rehearse, and perform Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Through classes in movement, theatre, unarmed stage combat, and character work, students learn all the different skills needed to become a Shakespearean actor. The performance will take place on the last day of camp.
Dates: June 20 - July 1; 9 am - 4 pm
Cost: $450; Price includes daily lunch
Over four days, students learn famous fables and folktales from all different cultures and then act them out. A different folktale for every day, including Chicken Little, The Tortoise and the Hare, The Bremen Town Musicians, and Anansi.
Dates: July 5-8 ; 9 am - 12 pm
